Title:   Treated Spheres for Controlling Apple Maggot Fly
Inventor:   Summary:

Pesticide treated spheres have been developed to improve on sticky-coated spheres intended to trap and kill insects, such as apple maggot fly, which are a threat to apple and other fruit and nut crops.   The improved spheres are visually attractive to insects, and constructed to include a slow release system for  pesticide and feeding stimulant.  The spheres are hung in the fruit trees and act as fruit mimics, to which the insects are attracted. After feeding at the sphere, the insects succumb to the pesticide on the sphere.
