Title:   Fuels from Biomass: Consolidated Bioprocessing of Biomass to Ethanol by Clostridium phytofermentans
Inventor:   Susan Leschine, Ph.D. (Microbiology)
Summary:

This invention involves systems and methods for producing fuels based in part on the discovery of Clostridium phytofermentans, a novel cellulolytic bacterial specie. phytofermentans can process low-grade biomass and concentrated biomass in a one-step fermentation process that yields high amounts of ethanol and H2 as products.
