Summary:		The invention, dynamic sectioning microscopy (DSM), is a non-scanning optical microscopy technique that provides wide field fluorescence or non fluorescence imaging with high 3d resolution (order of a micron) and confocal-like out-of-focus background rejection. DSM is inexpensive and requires only minimal drop-in modifications to an ordinary wide field microscope.
